用例Can not spare; can not do without; can not dispense with [注意]“Can spare”(=can do without)「無くてすむ」「無しにすます」を打消せば“can not spare”(=can not do without)「無くてはすまぬ」となるをもって「必要」に代用するのである、而して簡易な語を好む英米人は談話中“necessary”なる発音しにくい語を避けて“can't spare”を用い、“unnecessary”の代わりに“can do without”を用いるのである。
