《be》 so sad that both the speaker and the listener shed tears.

用例

用例

理由が聞きたい. I want to know the reason. ちょっと警察で聞いてみよう. I will just inquire at the police station. 何も聞かないで, さっさとやってくれ. Don't ask me; just do it! 聞くは一時の恥, 聞かぬは末代の恥. To ask may be a moment's shame, but not to ask and to remain ignorant is an everlasting shame.
