第十六条　留置施設に係る留置業務を管理する者（以下「留置業務管理者」という。）は、警視庁、道府県警察本部又は方面本部（第二十条において「警察本部」という。）に置かれる留置施設にあっては警視以上の階級にある警察官のうちから警視総監、道府県警察本部長又は方面本部長（以下「警察本部長」という。）が指名する者とし、警察署に置かれる留置施設にあっては警察署長とする。

(2) The provisions for seizure, search, inspection and request for an expert opinion by a judicial police officer in the Code of Criminal Procedure (Act No. 131 of 1948), with the exception of Article 224 of the Act, shall apply mutatis mutandis to the case set forth in the preceding paragraph.
