【商標】 ブルートゥース《パソコンや電話などの機器間の小型・高速・低電力の無線通信規格; データ圧縮に MPEG-4 を使用; 赤外線より波長の長いマイクロ波を使うため, 間に障害物があっても通信できる》.

☆Bluetooth (青歯王) は 10 世紀のデンマーク王ハーラル一世 (在位 940-986) の称. 古デンマーク語 Blatand は「浅黒い偉大な男」というほどの意味だったが, 英語で似た形の語に置き換えられた. 王は王国の平和的統一を果たした人物で, 通信とコンピューターの統合の象徴として採用されたらしい.
