1)一つのプログラムの中で,一組のデータ全体を幾度か走査しながら最終結果を得る処理の場合,各段階における走査をパスという.例えば,コンパイラが「原始プログラム」を読んで「目的プログラム」に変換する段階.
2)ループ構造において,本体を構成する命令の列を1回実行すること.
3)整列(ソート)プログラムで,ファイルをいくつかのフェーズを経て最終的に整列済のファイルができ上がるが,それぞれのフェーズをファーストパス,セカンドパス…ラストパスと呼ぶ.
4)磁気テープが磁気ヘッドの部分を通過すること.
