As this was effectively the failure of financial capitalism characteristic of the U.S., which has remained the world's greatest economy and superpower ever since the Soviet Union collapsed, what ensued was a tremendous disturbance. While I am not an expert in finance, I am aware that the global economy has drastically changed in some ways since the Lehman Brothers shockwave, and that each country truly has its own problems.
