Maybeury Elementary School is an introductory preparatory school located in Henrico, Virginia which serves the Tuckahoe district. The school was designed by J. Henley Walker and constructed by Bay Construction, Inc. and costed $528,854. It was built on a 12.6-acre (51,000 m²) plot that costed $28,451 at the time. The school opened on September 10, 1958 and was dedicated on May 18, 1959 when the Henrico County Public Schools school Superintendent at the time George H. Moody presented the keys to Maybeury's first principal, Mr. B.T. Doyle, Jr. Maybeury marked its 50^th anniversary in the 2007-2008 school year. Mr. Doyle remained at Maybeury as principal until he became principal of J.R. Tucker High School in 1962. Dr. Charles C. Todd Jr. served as the schools' second principal and served from 1962 to 1965 when until he became Director of Personnel and Director of Federal Projects in Charlottesville. Mr. Floyd L.Mitchell came to Maybeury as its third principal is 1965. and remained at the school until June 1986 when he retired. Maybeury's fourth principal, Ronald W. Odom, became the principal of the school in July, 1986 after serving as principal of Jackson Davis Elementary School. before coming to Maybeury. Mrs. Robin T. Exton, the fifth principal, came to Maybeury in 1997 after serving as principal of Three Chopt Elementary School. She left in 2004 and was replaced by Mr. Eric Armbruster, the current principal.
