- To provide a positron emission tomograph for finding the position of anomalous tissue such as cancer cells with satisfactory positional accuracy by effectively discriminating a photoelectric effect phenomenon from a Compton scatter phenomenon to detect only light emission (Cherenkov light) caused by charged particles generated by a photoelectric effect, and moreover simplifying data collection and an analysis mechanism.
