- This method for recovering methanol is characterized in that an aqueous solution of methanol containing a brominated organic substance is formulated with ≥0.2 the amount of the brominated organic substance of a solvent in which the brominated organic substance is soluble and which is substantially insoluble in water and has a boiling point higher than that of methanol and then the aqueous solution of methanol is distilled.
