- This recycling process is a continuous process comprising the steps of recovering DMT by depolymerization of used PET plastic bottles with EG followed by carrying out transesterification reaction with MeOH, obtaining terephthalic acid by subjecting the thus recovered DMT to hydrolysis technique, and then producing the PET polymer reusable for PET plastic bottles by using the thus obtained terephthalic acid.
