- To provide a method for discriminating whether a subtype of the genotype B of a hepatitis B virus is Ba or Bj by which the discrimination of HBV/Bj and HBV/Ba is carried out more accurately than a well-known PCR-RFLP (polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism) using MseI site containing nt1838, and more easily than the determination of the whole base sequence of the region (MseI).
