Coined by Donald Knuth in Supernatural Numbers, as a blend of million +‎ -yllion, from English -illion, from French -illion.

  1. Combined with Latin numeral prefixes to form names of the exponential powers of a hundred thousand / myllion or the squares of such — so that each new name covers twice as many digits. Thus the names myllion, byllion, tryllion, etc.
