Coined by Donald Knuth in Supernatural Numbers, as a blend of million +‎ -yllion, from English -illion, from French -illion.

1. Combined with Latin numeral prefixes to form names of the exponential powers of a hundred thousand / myllion or the squares of such — so that each new name covers twice as many digits. Thus the names myllion, byllion, tryllion, etc.

     The next unit we need after myriads is ${\\displaystyle 10^{8}}$. Let's agree to call this a myllion (pronounced mile-yun); similar words like myllionaire will, of course, also be of use. After myllions come byllions; one byllion equals ,${\\displaystyle 10^{1}6}$. It clearly is an improvement to have the unambiguous word byllion for this next step, since people have never been able to agree about what a "billion" is. (English かつ German" people think it is a million million, while Americans かつ Frenchmen think it is a thousand million.) Note also the comforting fact that our national debt is only a small fraction of a byllion dollars. 使用する際の注意点

• The word formed by combining the Latin prefix of a natural number ${\\displaystyle n}$ with this suffix means ${\\displaystyle 10^{2^{n+2}}}$. So one myllion is “one hundred million”, one byllion is “ten quadrillion”, one tryllion is “one hundred nonillion”, and so on.
