Adularia is a tectosilicate mineral with formula KAlSi3O8. It is a form of orthoclase which crystallizes at unusually low temperatures. It is found in the Adula Mountains of Switzerland. The genesis is usually hydrothermal (low temperature alpine veins). One well-known gemstone composed of adularia crystal is moonstone.
