Ayrums (Azeri: ayrım; Armenian: այրում) are a Turkic-speaking tribe in the Caucasus believed to be the descendants of the Greek colonialists who settled there. They became assimilated by Azeris, Armenians and other Caucasian peoples in the late 19th century. In the early 20th century, a small handful of Ayrums migrated into Turkey and also Iran. Toponyms derived from the word "Ayrum" still exist (or existed until recent decades) in northwestern Azerbaijan and northeastern Armenia, e.g. Mets Ayrum, Pokr Ayrum, Baganis-Ayrum, Polad-Ayrum, Gushchu-Ayrum, etc.
