The Christian right (also known as the evangelical bloc) is a term used predominantly in the United States of America to describe right-wing Christian individuals and organizations characterized by their strong support of public polices of social conservatism. The Christian Right is a movement that has been difficult to define due to the heterogeneity of the movement. Although views are virtually unanimous on certain issues, some contrasting viewpoints can be found among people who identify themselves as members of the Christian Right.
