The Hull Blitz was the Nazi German strategic bombing campaign targeted on the Northern English port city of Kingston upon Hull, almost invariably referred to as Hull, during the Second World War. Air raids began in Hull on 19 June 1940 and continued until 1945; the city spent more than 1,000 hours under alert.
