In the anime and manga series Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, a jutsu (術^?, lit. "technique" or "skill") refers to the abilities ninja can use. The series occurs in a fictional universe in which different countries fight for power using ninja soldiers. The Naruto storyline follows a group of young ninja from the village of Konohagakure. In the series, ninja use jutsu by manipulating a form of energy known as , a combination of the physical and mental energies in the body. Jutsu are classified into three categories: , techniques that produce illusions; , physical attacks that generally use only the body's physical energy; and , general techniques that do not fall into either of the other two categories.
