KXI22 is a newer NOAA Weather Radio station that serves parts of the north Georgia mountains with 100 watts on 162.500MHz. Its transmitter is located atop Brasstown Bald (the highest point in Georgia, with its radio antenna on the observation tower there, along with Georgia Public Broadcasting's W12DK-D TV and future WBTB FM. It is programmed from the National Weather Service forecast office at Falcon Field airport in Peachtree City, originally at Hartsfield International Airport (now Hartsfield-Jackson) in Atlanta. It is also simulcast with long-time KXI75 located near Blue Ridge, Georgia, and the two cover much of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the far north-central part of the state.
