Ruesi is the Thai name for a hermit sage (known as Rishi in India). In the West he is usually called a Yogi, from the Yogic practices applied by many of the Ruesi. There are various levels and classifications of Ruesi, depending on the intensity of their practice or number of moral precepts kept.
