The Sanshu is a Japanese rare spitz-type dog breed, formerly recognized by the American Rare Breed Association. It is friendly in temperament. A modern breed, it was developed in 1912 by crossing the ancient Japanese dog, which was called the Aichi, and the Chinese chow chow.
