Sindewahi is a city and tehsil (an administrative center) in the Chandrapur districtof India. Notable villages in this tehsil are Ladbori and the historic Ramala. Nagpur, the nearest big city, is about 150 km away. The first Rice Research Center was established in Sindewahi, in which various researchers work to discover new rice varieties. Gram Sewak Training Center is also in Sindewahi, one of only two in Maharashtra (the other is in Pune). Ghodazari Talaw and Asolamenda Talaw are picnic areas near Sindewahi. Asola Mendha is one of the biggest reservoirs in Maharashtra. Sindewahi City is surrounded by a forest in which tigers and other wild animals can be found.
