The Strathcona Community Hospital hospital will provide important, much needed health care services and 72 acute care beds and sufficient infrastructure capacity for 36 additional beds in the future. The hospital will help to meet the health care needs of the residents of Strathcona County. The project broke ground in 2007 and was expected to be completed in late 2009, but was put on hold due to the down turn in the economy. The construction of the facility resumed in spring 2010 and is hoped to be completed by 2012.
