Talke Pits is a village in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire. It is located close to the Cheshire border. The history of Talke Pits includes the mining of coal at Talke O' the Hill. The top of Talke has two pubs and St Martins Church on Audley Road. Down Audley Road is the hamlet known locally as Venice, once overlooking the spoil tips created as a result of the extensive mining of coal in the area.
