From 中期英語 bishiten, bischiten, from 古期英語 besċītan (“to befoul”), from Proto-West Germanic *biskītan, equivalent to be- +‎ shite. Cognate with Scots beschite, German bescheißen, Danish beskide (“to beshit”).
