ビタミンdの活性型。カルシトリオールは腎臓で作られるが、製造ラボで合成することもできる。腎臓疾患や甲状腺疾患によって骨格や組織のカルシウム量が欠乏したときには、体内のカルシウム濃度を上昇させる薬として使用される。
