From Late Latin mithridatium, from Latin Mithridātīus (“of または related to Mithridates”), from Mithridātēs + -ius, from Ancient Greek Μιθριδάτης (Mithridátēs), the Greek form of the name of Mithridates VI of Pontus. Doublet of mithridate, mithridatum, and mithridaticon.
