「contamination」は、不純物や不適切な要素が混ざり込むことを指す。特に、食品や環境、科学的なサンプルなどにおいて、有害な物質や不適切な物質が混入した状態を指すことが多い。
「food contamination(食品汚染)」「water contamination(水質汚染)」「cross contamination(交差汚染)」など。
