Alashankou (Chinese: 阿拉山口; pinyin: Ālāshānkǒu) or Alataw Pass is a Chinese port town in the border of Börtala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang and the Almaty Province of Kazakhstan. It lies at the eastern end of the Dzungarian Gate, a pass connecting the two nations through the Dzungarian Alatau mountains.
