The Basmyls (Basmyl; Basmals, Basmils, Old Turkic:
, Basmïl, Chinese: 拔悉密; pinyin: Báxīmì) were a 7–8th century Türkic nomadic tribe who mostly inhabited the Dzungaria region in the northwest of the modern day People's Republic of China. According to literary sources, the terms Basmyls and Basmals are readily interchangeable. Basmyls played a prominent role in the Eastern Türkic Kaganate, and at one time were the dynastic tribe who led the Khaganate.
