Bitemporal Modeling is the name of a logical design technique used for historical data in data warehouse design. It is considered to be different than Dimensional modeling. Bitemporal Modeling does not necessarily involved a relational database. Bitemporal Modeling is a logical design technique that seeks to store data in a standard, rigorous framework that allows for access to a complete history of what a business knew and when the business knew it (accurate and complete). It adheres to a discipline that uses the relational model with some restrictions.
