From Arabic فَتْح (fatḥ), a reverse acronym (meaning literally "conquest, victory or an outcome") for حَرَكَة اَلتَّحْرِير اَلْوَطَنِيّ اَلْفِلَسْطِينِيّ (ḥaraka(t) at-taḥrīr al-waṭaniyy al-filasṭīniyy, “Palestinian National Liberation Movement”).

Fataḥ (Arabic: فتح) (also known as Fateh) is a major Palestinian political party and the largest faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), a multi-party confederation. In Palestinian politics it is on the left-wing of the spectrum; it is mainly nationalist, although not predominantly socialist.
