Kevin L. Boyce (born ca. 1971) is an American politician of the Democratic Party who previously served as the 47th Ohio State Treasurer. Prior to being appointed treasurer he served on the Columbus City Council as President Pro Tem and Chairman of the Finance and Zoning Committees. It was announced on December 23, 2008 that Governor Ted Strickland had chosen Boyce for the position of Ohio State Treasurer, he replaced Richard Cordray who left office in November 2008 to take the position of Ohio Attorney General. On January 8, 2009 Boyce was sworn into office along with Cordray. Boyce has also served as Chief of Staff for the minority caucus of the Ohio House of Representatives and was the leader of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. Boyce's appointment made him the first African-American Democrat to hold a statewide, non-judicial office.
