OrthoDB is a database of orthologous genes from eukaryotic species. Clustering of orthologues is carried out using an all against all Smith-Waterman algorithm search followed by orthology definition using a method similar to the COGS and Inparanoid databases. The database now contains over 100 species. With 44 vertebrate genomes sourced from Ensembl, 46 fungal genomes from UniProt and 25 arthropod genomes from several databases.
