Smart Technologies (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA) is a publicly traded company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1987, Smart Technologies is best known as the developer of the Smart Board. As of January 2010, Smart Board interactive whiteboards lead the interactive whiteboard category with a 60.9% share in the United States, 63.5% in the UK, 61.8% in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), 77.9% in Canada and 48.2% market share globally. On July 15, 2010 placed an initial public offering (IPO).
