胆汁（肝臓で作られ脂肪の消化を助ける液体）の生成、貯蔵、小腸への分泌を行っている臓器および管のこと。胆道系には、胆嚢と肝臓内および肝臓外の胆管が含まれる。「biliary tract（胆道）」とも呼ばれる。
