From Ukrainian Білку́н (Bilkún) or Polish Bilkun.
Ultimately traced to East Germanic 𐌱𐌹𐌻𐌺𐌹𐌰𐌽 (bilkian, “to mock, ridicule, jeer at”). (Can this etymology be sourced?) The form was later absorbed into the Slavic onomastic landscape, aligning phonetically with the agentive suffix -ун (-un) (as in Бовкун (Bovkun)).
