1. (historical) A ring worn to supposedly prevent cramp, epilepsy and associated diseases, especially one specifically blessed by an English monarch before the Reformation.
   • 1971, Keith Thomas, Religion and the Decline of Magic, Folio Society, published 2012, page 193:

     The blessing of cramp-rings was abandoned immediately and without comment upon the accession of Elizabeth I.
