What was found in the examination is that Japanese companies are deciding to begin business operations in China and ASEAN4 in pursuit of cheaper labor costs and in view of promising local markets that may absorb their locally manufactured products. Japanese companies were also found to have decided to operate domestically in light of high technological abilities and easiness for obtaining market needs and customer information in Japan.
