The Rt Rev. Christopher Butson, DD was a Church of Ireland bishop in the first half of the Nineteenth Century . Born in 1747, he was educated at Winchester and New College, Oxford. A former Dean of Waterford, he was consecrated Bishop of Clonfert and Kilmacduagh on 29 July 1804 and Bishop of Killaloe, Kilfenora, Clonfert and Kilmacduagh on 29 January 1834. and succeeded his brother in 1848. He died on 22 March 1836.
