Stratospheerius is a musical group of the Jam Band and Funk genres, in a style they call "psychojazz trip funk". The New York-based group has opened for Tim Reynolds, The Slip, Ekoostik Hookah, and John Scofield among others. Featured in Relix Magazine's "On The Verge" section, the band's "What's That Thing" won Best Jam Song in The 4th Annual Independent Music Awards and has won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Led by Russian-born singer/violinist/songwriter Joe Deninzon, their influences include Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, John Medeski, Bela Fleck and Dave Matthews Band.
