史料における悪党の語の初出は『続日本紀』霊亀2年5月21日条（716年）の勅に見える「鋳銭悪党」であるが、2例目は12世紀後半の「占部安光文書紛失状案」（永万元年（1165年）3月21日付）まで遙かに下る。例文帳に追加
