Akdamut, or Akdamut Milin, or Akdomus Milin (Hebrew: אקדמות מילין, "In Introduction to the Words," i.e. to the Aseret ha-dibrot, the Ten Commandments) is a prominent Aramaic liturgical poem recited annually on the Jewish holiday of Shavuos by Ashkenazi Jews. It was penned by Rabbi Meir bar Yitzchak of Worms, Germany, who lived in the 11th century. Akdamut consists of praise for G-d, His Torah, and His people.
