Luzhou (simplified Chinese: 泸州; traditional Chinese: 瀘州; Sichuanese Pinyin: Nu2zou1; Sichuanese pronunciation: [nu˨˩tsəu˥]; pinyin: Lúzhōu; Wade–Giles: Lu-chou), best known for its alcoholic beverages, is a prefecture-level city in the southeast of Sichuan province of Southwest China. It has an urban population of 456,200 (30 December 2006).
