発音

名詞

solor m (nominative plural soloras)

  1. alternative form of salor
ラテン語

語源

It may be a denominative to a root noun *sōlh₂- (mercy, comfort), from Proto-Indo-European *selh₂-. Cognate with Ancient Greek ἱλάσκομαι (hiláskomai, to appease) and perhaps Old Armenian աղաչեմ (ałačʻem, to pray). The traditional comparison by Pokorny to Proto-Germanic *sēliz (happy, kind, fortunate) (whence English silly) does not seem to be supported by later linguists.
