WJYS is an independent television station owned by Oxford Media Group Inc., licensed to Hammond, Indiana, but headquartered in Tinley Park, Illinois with antennae on top of the Willis Tower in downtown Chicago, serving the Chicago, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan markets on digital channel 62. The station features religious programs primarily, direct response, plus turnkey automobile dealer, local advertisement and other infomercials. The signal used to reach about 7.5 million people but when the antenna moved to the Willis Tower as part of the digital transition the signal now has the same coverage as the major broadcasters in the area, reaching almost 11 million viewers in four states. Regular programming like JBTV that have a hard time getting distribution can pay to be on air for promotion and to gain a fan base. There is some locally produced programming and WJYS leases its digital sub-channels to other networks.
