     The pitched sound of Kornstad’s ‘flutonette’ is still largely that of a clarinet due to the mouthpiece, and the physicality of this flutonette remains true to the clarinet also in terms of playing position –it is not held to one side like the flute but rather held forwards like a clarinet.
