Fred DuVal (born May 24, 1954) is a businessman, civic leader and author from Phoenix, Arizona. DuVal is co-chair of the Arizona Board of Regents, which governs Arizona's three state universities. On July 1, 2011 he will take over as chair of the board. He is also co-chair of the "Getting AHEAD" initiative with Maricopa Community Colleges Chancellor Rufus Glasper. "Getting Ahead" is focused on system redesign to achieve higher productivity. DuVal is a national leader in higher education, known for his advocacy of performance and outcome based funding models tied to higher accountability. In September of 2010 DuVal was appointed to an advisory group for Complete to Compete, an initiative of the National Governor's Association focused on making "America a global leader in college completion and improve the productivity of our country's higher education institutions."
