The J-Test was introduced in 1991 as a test for conducting objective measurement of the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers. Broadly based on the format of a listening test, the exam attempts to gauge practical proficiency in Japanese.

Jtest is an automated Java testing and static code analysis product that is made by Parasoft. It aims to improve Java code reliability, functionality, security, performance, and maintainability. Basic functionality includes Unit test-case generation, static analysis, regression testing, runtime error detection, and code review. Jtest is used by companies such as Cisco Systems, TransCore, AIG United Guaranty and Wipro Technologies.
