From mal- + gender. First known use is by Tumblr blogger penisbagelbite in the April 2024 blog post " 'Affirmation' & Malgendering".
malgender (third-person singular simple present malgenders, present participle malgendering, simple past and past participle malgendered)
Malgender (referring to a person with the correct gender but with the intent to disparage) is mostly used to describe treatment of transgender men and other transmasculine people, although it sees occasional use to refer to the experiences of other transgender, nonbinary, or even cisgender people.
