From Cajun French petit (“little”) (dialectally pronounced /ti/) + English boy.
T-Boy
“T” is a shortening of the French word “petite” so in English it translates to “little boy”. It’s sometimes used with the persons name, like T-Bob ; T-Larry; etc. Growing up 60 miles below New Orleans, both sets of my grandparents spoke English as a 2nd language.
